Part 1
Success online will mean different things to different people. Someone looking to make a few extra dollars a month may be happy to come away with a few hundred dollars a month. Someone looking to replace lost job income may need to make thousands of dollars a month. Success Online can be had.
It doesn’t matter if you are just starting out or if you have been looking for income opportunities for awhile online you will need to set some parameters. Certain activities take a lot of time to accomplish and offer great reward. However you can also find ways to make money without spending hours and hours toiling away. Most people will choose the latter route if given the choice and that is what I would like to address.
If you want to make consistent money online I would like to suggest you follow these guidelines.
1. Be careful who you listen to. If you search for “make money online” on Google you will get back 156 million ways to do it. Well, there just aren’t 156 million ways to make money online. (I’ll speak about a few ways for success online in a moment.)
2. If you have signed up for a lot of newsletters and free courses for “making money online” start deleting them. In other words if you are getting spammed everyday from “gurus” telling you the flavor of the day for success online, you need to get off of those list. I can’t emphasize this enough.
3. To be successful you need to find one thing and get good at it. If you bounce all over the place you’ll never have success. I will lay out a few proven ways to make money and have success online without spending months doing it.
What, only three guidelines? Depending on your personality type 3 guidelines are either to many or too few. Doesn’t matter I want to keep this simple.
Okay so here is simple, if you are going to build a business online you will need some tools. I’ll lay out some free ones and some paid ones. You will need both
One of the first things you will need to learn to do is build a website. I suggest you learn how to build a wordpress site. Wordpress is free except for hosting and custom Themes. It’s easy to learn and use. Here is a free resource with videos on how to build a wordpress site. Click Here
After seeing how easy it is to build a website you’ll want to get a Domain Name and Hosting. Let me caution you about Domain Names. Hold off a little bit on buying domain names, the reason is that each domain name will have a specific use. If you will be starting a company you may think that you want a domain name in your company name however it may make more sense to have part of the name of your product or service in the domain name. This helps with SEO or “Search Engine Optimization” you can learn more about it here at Wikipedia.
The next thing you will need when you start building your site is Hosting. I use Hostgator. This is where you will find the c-panel that you learned about in the training videos for wordpress. When you Get to the Hostgator Page Click on “Home” and look for the “Business Plan” The Business plan will end up being the best plan and here is why. If you are going have success online and build a business you will end up having more than one website and one domain. The Business plan will allow you to have unlimited sites and domains tied to one account. This will be the cheapest way to go.
The only time you will want to get seperate hosting is if you build a e-commerce site and then want to sell the site in the future. I’ll let you know about the best way to get an e-commerce site up and running from start to finish in as little as a weeks time in part 2.
